Design & Collaboration

The home is positioned on a wedge-shaped lot at the end of a short street, requiring careful planning to resolve access, layout, and site constraints. The design organizes the program around a central courtyard, defined by the main residence and a detached guest suite and home office, creating a private outdoor living environment anchored by an elevated pool deck.

Architecturally, the home draws from a Key West vernacular, adapted to a waterfront context and elevated construction requirements.

Execution & Key Elements

The project required a hybrid structural approach combining concrete block, precast concrete elements, and wood framing. Limited site access and the irregular lot geometry demanded disciplined coordination of trades, materials, and sequencing throughout construction.

The five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bath program is elevated above grade, with the pool and outdoor living areas integrated into the courtyard to balance privacy, durability, and usability within the constrained site.

Outcome

The result is a highly resolved waterfront residence that brings together architectural character, structural complexity, and thoughtful planning—delivering a durable and refined home tailored to both its setting and its owner.
